## Getting Started with Tasks in Openli

Tasks in Openli help you manage your privacy and compliance work in one place. It also gives you a clear overview of what needs to be done, who is responsible, and when it’s due.

### With Tasks, you can:

✅ Create and assign tasks for your privacy program

📅 Set deadlines and assign task owners

👀 Track progress and mark tasks as completed

### Examples of common tasks:

✅ Add your data processors to Openli

✅ Review and update your Privacy Policy

✅ Confirm you have signed DPAs with key vendors

✅ Update your RoPA (Record of Processing Activities)

✅ Set a reminder to review data retention timelines

✅ Schedule a check-in to review use of AI tools

## **How to Create a Task in Openli (Step-by-Step)**

1. **Navigate to Tasks**

&#x20;  In your Openli account, click on the "Tasks" tab in the left-hand menu.

2. **Click "Create Task"**

&#x20;  Enter a task title, description (optional), and due date.

3. **Assign an Owner**

&#x20; Select the person responsible for completing the task.<br>

* If the person does not have an Openli account, you can invite them at the same time.
* If the person already has an account, they will receive a notification that a task has been assigned to them.

4. **Automatic Notifications**

The task owner will get a reminder notification on the task due date, helping to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

5. **Mark as Completed**

Once the task is done, it can be easily marked as “Completed” to keep your dashboard up to date.
