# SSO with Azure AD (Microsoft)

## General setup

No special setup is normally required for Azure AD.

Simply ensure that you have added users in your Openli account with email addresses that match their addresses in your Azure AD account, and confirm that we have enabled SSO for your domain.

## Troubleshooting

#### Users that exist in Azure AD and in Openli cannot log in

Your Azure AD settings might be too strict to work with Openli.

Openli is a verified publisher, which means that your Azure AD administrator should only need to ensure that the setting "***Allow user consent for apps from verified publishers***" is enabled, to allow users in your organisation with a corresponding user in Openli to log in.

[Please see this Microsoft guide for more information](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/manage-apps/configure-user-consent?tabs=azure-portal).

Openli only requires these permissions to be granted by users:

* "*View users' basic profile*" (the `profile` permission)
* **"***Maintain access to data you have given it access to*" (the `offline_access` permission)
